Review and Giveaway: Money Saving Mom's Book!

To contact us Click HERE

I received an early copy of the book The Money Saving Mom's Budget by Crystal Paine. I have subscribed to Crystal's blog, moneysavingmom.com, since before I started my blog several years ago, so I really wanted to read her first book!

Crystal is a young mom who is committed to living without debt and teaching others how to do the same. Her blog is practical and has encouraged countless numbers of people to learn how to live on less and give more. I am one of those people! :-)

Her book starts by talking about why you need to organize your home and life in order to save time and money. She walks you through setting reachable goals, determining priorities, making a budget for both your time and your money, and getting rid of clutter. The rest of the book is filled with practical ways you can save even more. And if you think it is all about coupons, you'd be wrong! There are lots of ways to "slash your spending, pay down your debt, streamline your life, and save thousands a year" (the tagline from her book!)

The Money Saving Mom's Budget is a very easy read. Throughout the book there are very short testimonials and ideas from many other people who have implemented some of these tips or have saved or earned money in a creative way. Even though I have been reading Crystal's blog for several years, there were some new things that stood out to me that I need to implement. I really think there is something for everyone in this book because of all the golden nuggets of wisdom woven throughout!

You can pre-order your copy of The Money Saving Mom's Budget and it will be sent out to you as soon as it releases in January. Christmas gift idea, anyone? ;-) And one other thing, Crystal is donating ALL the proceeds from her book sales to Compassion International. Isn't that great?!?

Potbelly Sandwich Shop Coming to Arizona

To contact us Click HERE
A hit in other cities across the country, Potbelly Sandwich Shop, Potbelly Sandwich Works, or Potbelly's as it is affectionately known by regulars, is finally making the move to Arizona.  Slated to open three locations in the upcoming months, Potbelly's has no plans of stopping there, hoping to "...be all over the Valley" and expand into Tucson, according to the company's market manager for Arizona.

The one Potbelly's location being reported by multiple outlets is the future CityScape spot, set to open in the fall.  However, there are also reports of two other locations, looking to open before labor day.   These spots include one at 7th Ave & McDowell Rd. and one near 20th St. & Camelback Rd.

The Chicago-based Potbelly Sandwich Shop began in 1977 as an antique store and has grown to over 240 locations.  Potbelly's has a menu that includes sandwiches, salads, soups, chili, sides such as macaroni salad and potato salad, shakes, malts, smoothies, baked goods, and even offers breakfast at many of its locations.  Check out Potbelly's menu and see for yourself.

Stay tuned to the AZFoodDude for updates on exact opening dates and future locations.

Mobile Coupon Ethusiast Escorted Off "Let's Make a Deal" Show

To contact us Click HERE
Los Angeles-- During a taping of the popular day time television show, "Let's Make a Deal", a contestant had to be detained and escorted off Sunset Bronson Studios early morning for acts of violent behavior.

Before being detained by LA Police Department the contestant later identified as mobile coupon enthusiast, Mobsav Man, went on a rant about the studio citing, "Bronson Studios has rats! This show sucks! What the (exploited and deleted) is a Zonk anyway?!? (Exploited and deleted) you Wayne Brady! Your Improv sucks! I won that (exploited and deleted) smart car!"

After obtaining a copy of the police report, it was cited that Mobsav Man had become disgruntled and furious when Wayne Brady offered to exchange his already won $1,300 for a mystery curtain containing a bath tub full of mashed potatoes. Mobsav Man then proceeded to coerce Brady into giving the money back. He then proceeded to run around the set destroying people's costumes and began throwing mashed potatoes at audience members before finally being detained by studio security.

When speaking with eyewitness and audience member Ryan Beckett, he stated, "I thought I came to the show to have a good time and sport my Mr. T costume. Not to have my gold chain whipped at Mangun's face and be part of a Tina Turner Thanksgiving. You know what, Brady really screwed that guy though."

Sunset Bronson Studio members are yet to comment on the incident. However, co-host Jonathan Mangun who had been reported to be cowering in the corner at the time of the incident is said to be suffering from post-traumatic stress and doesn't plan on returning to work anytime soon.

Mobsav Man: Big Trouble in Little China

To contact us Click HERE

January 23, Chicago-- This time it's not Kurt Russell that's raking havoc through China Town on the big screen, but a manic political campaign and various confused Chinese immigrants rallying throughout the Chicago Chinatown area this morning. Candidate later identified as Mobsav Man announced earlier today that after reading his Chinese horoscope, for the first time, he would be starting a last minute presidential campaign representing the party, "Coalition of the Dragon, Hissss!"

Running under the platform (or more of ranting and raving) of being,
"literally entitled to the presidency based on ancient Chinese astrology, look it up!" -Mobsav Man.
He insisted that he was contacted through the Yahoo Organization and was personally chosen by known mystical forces based on his "leadership" and "bad-assed nature" to lead this country into the future.

Before anyone could explain to him how horoscopes work he kicked over the microphone, began to dance around with a stereo blaring "Rack City" by artist Tyga, and started handing out coupons and campaign flyers. Several hundred homeless people and confused Chinese immigrants would soon after take to the streets rallying behind Mobsav Man chanting, "Join the Mob" "Dragon Force Unite!" and "Xīnnián kuàilè!" meaning Happy New Year in Chinese.

As more and more supporters and/or confused Chinese immigrants joined the "Dragon Coalition Movement" the more traffic became congested around surrounding areas as well as coming to a full blown stop from 11am-2pm off W Cermack and S. Archer Ave. An even more confused police force and local officials would be caught off guard claiming that the Chinese New Year's Parade is not scheduled till the 29th of January and that they were, "in no way prepared for this." They also would go on citing it as one of the worst freak traffic congestion since, "84' when the Van Halen bus broke down on Canal St."

Chicago citizen and taxi cab driver had this to comment about the incident,

"What?!? Mobsav Man's responsible for this?!? You know it's bad enough that every time I pick that guy up, he's always coming out of a bar drunk! And, I'm always telling him to watch the curb when opening the door and he racks the door on the curb, every time! Every time he does it and then unsympathetically says, 'my bad...' (Exploited and Deleted) you, dude! Not to mention all the awkward (Exploited and Deleted) he says in the ride back. Like if I ever saw that movie Taxi Driver and that he wants to write a movie called Taxi Passenger that's kind of like Taxi Driver but just more realistic?!? Then he insists on 'pounding it' trying to get me to knuckle bump him like we're friends. We're not friends and I hate you dude! Coupons for taxi cab rides do not exist!"

By the time police and city officials got the situation under control and began dispersing people, the affliction would prove to congest loop traffic for 4 and 1/2 hours and cost the city countless amounts of money. Mobsav promises to make it up to the city in coupons while Mobsav Man's official statement on the whole ordeal is, "My bad..."

Mobsav Man: Roller Skating with the Punches

To contact us Click HERE

February 1-- After being arrested and charged for disorderly conduct this weekend at local Roller USA, we get and exclusive interview with Mobsav Man and self proclaimed "genius" or more recently "The One Man Riot". We pried at him to answer for his newfangled outrageous behavior.

Mobsav Man, you were recently spotted being carried out of Roller USA by local authorities for drunk and disorderly behavior. Can you explain to us what happened that night?

Ah, sure Jeff. That never happened.

OK, my name is Evan not Jeff by the way. And, we have the police report right here. It sates, as witnessed by numerous people, you were skating around drunk and you were clumsily knocking into patrons before you claimed, "You f*cking kids are f*ckin up my vibe!" And then you began purposely pushing children down to the floor. At this point, you proceeded to vomit into said "Wack-a-Mole" game machine. When confronted about this from employee you exclaimed, "Chill the f*ck out chief, that game sucks anyway!" and then threw numerous coupons for 1/2 off pizza and 10% off car-washes at him. Many of which, hitting the employee in the face. Before authorities arrived you were demanding the Roller D.J. play "This is your Night" and when authorities did finally arrive you began to run away, or more litterally skate away from them. All while, coercing the Roller D.J. into playing the song each time you passed him before you were finally subdued on your 4th or 5th lap. Is there anything you would like to say for yourself?

Yeah Jeff, ya got me. OK. I apologize. I'm sorry alright. I'm sorry it got way too real at that roller disco that night. You know I just put on my platforms and got way too excited. Then, the next thing you know I'm about 6 or 7 Cape Coders deep. It gets weird sometimes. It happens. I ended up ruining everyone's nice night at that roller disco and in the process got a life time ban at one of my favorite places.

Following the interview, Mobsav Man promised to make a donation to the Roller USA's charity of choice but until then had to, "move some stuff around maybe sell some sh*t" and until then, "everyone can just chill the f*ck out. Alright?"

CNBC: Warren Buffett Defends His Secretary From 'Ridiculous' Attacks

To contact us Click HERE

By: Alex Crippen
Executive Producer
   Published: Friday, 27 Jan 2012 | 12:47 PM ET

Warren Buffett assistant Debbie Bosanek
Warren Buffett's assistant Debbie Bosanek speaks with NBC's Tom Brokaw in this frame grab from a 2007 report on Buffett's call for higher taxes on the super-rich.
Warren Buffett says criticism of his secretary, Debbie Bosanek, over her supposed high salary and purchase of a second home, is 'ridiculous' and misses the point he's trying to make on tax rates for the very rich.During his State of the Union address this week, President Obama said it isn't fair that Buffett pays a lower tax rate than his secretary does, arguing for a "Buffett Rule" that would impose a minimum 30 percent tax rate on those making a million dollars or more per year.  Bosanek had been invited to sit in Michelle Obama's box to watch the speech.
Buffett tells the Omaha World-Herald, "They can't attack the facts, so they attack the person. It's ridiculous."
His point: "I'm saying she is being treated unfairly in the tax code, as are tens of millions of others, compared to me.  They shouldn't change the rates on all the other people.  They should change mine."
As for a Forbes blog post by contributor Paul Roderick Gregory estimating Bosanek earns between $200,000 and $500,000 a year, "making her scarcely the symbol of injustice that Obama wishes her to project," Buffett replies that Gregory "doesn't have any idea, just zero.  If I were to estimate his salary, I'd probably be closer than he is."
Buffett says all the online guesses about Bosanek's salary aren't correct, but neither he nor she will reveal her actual salary because they say it's a private matter.  She does, however, feel that she is "treated fairly at Berkshire"  Some critics have argued that since Bosanek allowed herself to be injected into the public debate, she should release her tax returns.
As for her newfound fame as a symbol for President Obama's push for a "Buffett" tax rule, Bosanek says, "They needed to pick one person, and I was the lucky person they picked, or unlucky."
She adds that Buffett never implied she is poor or underpaid.  "It's not like I look forward to paying taxes, but I don't mind paying taxes as long as everybody's treated fairly. . I'm not saying anyone should feel sorry for me or lower my taxes."
She's also not apologizing for the second home she and her husband purchased in Arizona last summer for $144,000:
"I share Warren's view about the future of America, and we believe that our country will do just fine. I'm happy to make this investment.  Hopefully in 10 years, when I turn 65 and Warren turns 92, I will be able to convince him to finally retire so I can retire, after working 47 years, and spend some time where the sun shines in the winter."
